Howarth School is located near the corner of Bald Mountain Rd. and Silver
Bell Rd. in Orion Twp. The property on which the building sits was donated
to the United Methodist Church in 1859 by John Howarth. The building doubled
as a church until the church was built accross the road in 1898. The building
continued as a school until 1955. |

The site was listed on the MIchigan State Register of Historic Sites in
1983. The historic marker was erected in 1988. |
