2005 Projects

December 3, 2005.  Union Church opened to the public for the first time in many years to show off interior restoration work in progress.   Following the Orion Holiday Lighted Parade, parade-goers were treated to tours and information about the interior work amid holiday decorations and carols sung by Church Street Singers.

November 12, 2005.  Clean up crews worked to clean up the church sanctuary areas to better display wood pews and architectural details including woodwork and stenciled plaster walls.    Holiday trees and decorations were added to prepare for the opening to the public during the holiday season.

August 4-7, 2005.   Work crews removed non-historic materials including the baptismal font, dropped ceiling, oak panels, stage area and fiberboard covering the stenciled plaster walls.
